Close your eyes and imagine this: In the year of 1619, your race was equivalent to dogs (maybe less). Your race was utilized as industrial tools. Your race was not even considered as a third-class being; in fact, a family dog got to sleep inside the master’s home. But, your race got to sleep in filthy sheds at least 460 meters (500 yards) away from the master’s home.
How is that for a picture? Now – fast forward to 2020 (401 years later), and you wonder why we are angry?
We are angry, because the remanence of the past continues to linger like the smell of a burnt meal in the heat of a summer afternoon.
We are angry, because we are led to believe that we are not as smart as the others.
We are angry, because we cannot get the majority to hear our voice. This majority continues to treat us like a subset class without a voice.
We are angry, because we see the hypocrisy; and it is suffocating.
We are angry, because some of the people that swore to “protect and serve” the nation’s citizens still treat us like dogs.
We are angry, because we have to act civil regardless of how we are being treated.
We are angry, because we are tired! Tired of not being able to taste equality.
We are angry, because we can’t stop this vicious cycle for our children; 401 years and counting.
WE ARE F-CKING ANGRY! YES!
WE ARE ANGRY EVERY DAMN DAY!
WE ARE SICK OF BEING ANGRY EVERY DAMN DAY!
WE ARE SICK OF BEING ANGRY!
Wouldn’t you be angry too?
